Description

The Rosette nebula is a beautiful and impressively large DSO.

Only a couple of hours of clear sky and I had to wait a while before this target was well above the trees of my neighbours backyard..!

Just 17 x 180 sec of usable light frames, which is far too little for a quality stack, hence the noise. But I am still pleased with the end result. I shot this image with a dual (Ha/Oiii) narrow band filter. In postprocessing I extracted the Ha and Oiii channels and reassigned them to R and G&B respectively in a RGB composite. I applied this technique for the very first time and used Astro Pixel Processor (APP).

Many thanks to Nico Augustin for his video tutorial: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=j5XgZ3odKx8&feature=youtu.be
